No Ripcord (Quick Takes: August/September 2018): Thou & KEN mode

Image
For a No Ripcord's monthly installment of blurb-sized reviews, or "QUICK TAKES" as the feature is titled, I submitted KEN mode 's Loved and Thou 's Magus . Both albums contain some of the most exciting, violent, and emotionally turbulent music I've heard this year. Please enjoy the reviews and I'd recommend reading about the other albums covered in this feature as well. Please feel free to comment or send all angry missives to lettersfromatapehead@gmail.com . Daughter of a Tapehead: KEN mode

Image
KEN mode Success Season of Mist Released: 6.16.15 * Big Black 's Atomizer LP is in the background as an Albini homage.  Completely unintentional, but it works I guess. ** "Blessed" is a single from KEN mode 's Success that begins the LP.  My daughter was actually confused about the song's title versus the song's mood.  You can check out the song below: And, yes KEN mode's Success was my Summer jam.  Definitely one of my favorite releases this year.
