Thrill Jockey Records : Uniform Wake In Fright Thrill Jockey Records Released: 1.20.17 Uniform 's Wake In Fright was issued as an "art edition" limited to 200, white vinyl housed in a screen-printed homage to Mad Max that's sealed with a wax stamp.  Needless to say, these are gone.  I won't say that the screen printed cover does much to enhance the actual album, but it's still pretty cool. Because it wasn't enough that Ty Segall released what will likely be one of the best albums of 2014 , a new singles and rarities compilation dubbed $INGLE$ 2 will be released later this November via Drag City.  Normally I like to have appropriate tracks on hand to post alongside announcements like this, but such is not the case this time around.  There is, however, a lot of info on the release which was provided by Mutante, so give it a look if you're interested. It was announced maybe last week that psych rock solo artist, Ty Segall , would be releasing a new album with his touring band as Ty Segall Band in June via In The Red.  Its name is Slaughterhouse .  A new single for the album was just made available online, "Wave Goodbye," which I've listened to two or three times today.  There's a ratty t-shirt feel to the song that I truly appreciate, not to mention the jamming outro.  I'll be on the lookout for this one when it comes out, especially since it looks like they'll be covering "Diddy Wah Diddy" by Captain Beefheart . "I Am Not A Game" is the first single from Hair , the new collaborative LP from Ty Segall and White Fence ( Tim Presley ).  It's pure Nugget -organ garage pop of the 60s variety and I'm interested to hear the rest of the album.  Even if you're sick of 60s revivalism, the song is super-catchy, melodically rich and wonderfully upbeat.  All info comes courtesy of Force Field PR.
