I stress that The Body remains a consistently fascinating entity whose work I either champion or dismiss, the creative push-n-pull a la Chip King and Lee Buford  qualifying as anything from merely pushing decibels to forward thinking and genre-hybridizing to unlistenable grating shit-spew. With that said, The Body partners well. Those excellent recordings they released with Thou , Released From Love and You, Whom I Have Always Hated , remain some of the most ear rupturing sounds I've heard on a physical album. So, being a Uniform fan, I have high hopes for  Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back , The Body's second collaborative noise venture with the group, which is due to release 8/16 via Sacred Bones . The Body specializes in misery. For their latest album, No One Deserves Happiness , the duo, members Chip King and Lee Buford , decided that their brand of bleak metal should be expanded or altered with unsettling dance rhythms and corrupted electro beats.  The group's latest single, "The Myth Arc," is, in some ways, kind of beautiful.  While a very loud series of echoing blasts of machined static drives the song, not to mention the droning riff that crumbles slowly after every stroke, vocalist Chrissy Wolpert , ( Assembly of Light ), exudes a calm and delicacy that's at odds with the horror beneath her, so much so that her promise that "I will find you" takes on a haunting level of foreboding.  It is genuinely chilling and not too far removed from the sonic mastery that Scott Walker and SunnO))) exhibited in 2014's Soused . Up until now, I'd been oblivious to J.R. New collaborations were announced this week.  Here are details regarding an upcoming new Boris/Merzbow release, Gensho , as well as an upcoming LP from The Body & Krieg , (apparently being called The Body & Krieg ), which I'm positive will provide this Winter with a soundtrack oh so very desolate.  No tracks yet, but they'll be posted once they're made available.
